Default Buying / Selling Guilds

Been playing for three years, and I still don't understand.

Do people buy Guilds simply because of the Guild's name / rank?

Who's to say that all of the members won't leave once it's sold?

I'm prolly just dumb (awaits the flames), but I just don't get why someone would want to buy Guild.

There's one for sale on the High End forums now...[CALL].

edit:
LOL!!! that's square bracket CALL square bracket.

Default My two cents..

I think the reason people buy guild is they don't want to spend the time and money to get everything. The guild i'm in we asked people for donations to fill our guild hall. It is very expensive to go start to finish. Also trying to get a stable group is getting harder and harder everyday. Alot of people guild jump if you don't help them with everything and give them all that they ask for. I'm not saying everyone does this, but its about half of the people who play GW.

Hey Popi.

I know only 1 person that successfully bought a guild. A couple of members of his ex-guild gave some ectos each and they bought a empty silver-trim guild. The only goal they had was the trim.

Yep, most guilds in the high end are bought for a trimmed cape or for the rating.
Other guilds are bought just coz its cheaper than stocking a GH - I bought one quite a while back to keep my storage chars together that was about half full and cost like 10k - instant saving.

It's almost cheaper to buy a guild off someone in some cases. I bought some random guild for 10K that had Full hall. ;P Ended up disbanding it later cause I can't be bothered to recruit.

People buy champ range guilds to champ point farm. Trimmed guilds to look cool, and sometimes you can buy a guild that you'd never get in any other way ;P

I don't understand how people can take pride in something that they bought, rather than earned.

^Anyone else find this ironic?

As far as the topic... lol its kind of late in the game to be starting new guilds unless its for gvg. my storage character has (me&my rl friends') a guild. Its convenient. And while it has no trim (or rating at all!) Its still cool because we formed it in the Beta.
